My recent business trip to Kyoto led me to stay at Fugastay Shijo Omiya, which was chosen by my director. The property offered various recreational opportunities, including a fitness center and a spa, which provided a great way to unwind after a long day of work. the hotel's location was convenient for getting around the city and exploring its attractions.
It's a 'nothing' hotel in a 'nothing' part of town.

The room at FUGASTAY Shijo Omiya was amazing! The flat-screen TV kept me entertained, and the comfortable sofa was perfect for relaxing. The private bathroom with free toiletries made me feel pampered. Plus, the air conditioning kept the room cool throughout my stay. As someone with physical handicaps, I really appreciated the accessible desk and the electronic bidet in the bathroom. it was a fantastic experience!
Personally, I didn't find much use for the kettle in the room.

They provided us with useful information on how to get to the nearby temples and recommended some great restaurants in the area. the rooms were clean and comfortable, with spacious tubs and a peaceful atmosphere. The hotel also had a nice fragrance in the lobby and elevator, which added to the overall pleasant experience.
One downside of the hotel was its location. It was not well connected to the main subway station and there weren't many interesting attractions close by.

the location was good for getting around, as a bus stop was walk from the hotel. main shopping street and a shopping street were right next door. the room was cheap, also it had smoke detectors.

The staff were really helpful and flexible yet not intrusive. Our room was beautifully designed and had 2 single beds. The bathroom was spotless and it had a bidet, shower caps and bath sheets for our convenience.

The staff at the hotel were incredibly helpful, going above and beyond to ensure our stay was pleasant. The room was clean and comfortable, and the staff even arranged for us to have a larger room to accommodate our luggage. the free coffee provided next to the lift was a nice touch.
The hotel is quite far from the main subway station and the laundry facilities are also a distance away. This can be inconvenient if you're relying on public transportation or need to do laundry during your stay.

The room was larger than expected and the beds were comfortable. The hotel was conveniently close to several bus stations, making it easy to get around and visit temples and other attractions. The staff was friendly and helpful in providing directions and recommendations.
The location of the hotel left much to be desired. There were no interesting or worthwhile attractions nearby, and it was not well connected to other parts of the city.

We loved our stay at this hotel! The room was spacious and luxurious, making us feel like we were staying in a five-star hotel. The beds and pillows were incredibly comfy, ensuring a good night's sleep. The bathroom was spotless and equipped with a toilet with bidet, sink, shower, and a shiny new tub. The organic soap and shampoo provided added to the indulgent experience. The location was great, situated in a quiet residential area with easy access to the city buses from the nearby Shijo Horikawa bus station. The main shopping street was also just a 20-minute walk away. We appreciated the hotel's environmentally conscious policy of cleaning the rooms and changing towels and sheets every third day.
Our stay felt almost like being at home, as there was nothing to complain about.

We had a great time at Fugastay Shijo Omiya in Kyoto. Our stay was for a week and we were thrilled with the experience. The room was the largest we had during our trip to Japan, and it was stylish and immaculately clean. The beds were comfortable, and we loved the modern bathroom with its fancy toilet. The location is excellent, with plenty of great cafes and restaurants just around the corner. It's also convenient for getting around, with affordable taxis and the subway nearby.
Couldn't recommend this hotel more.
